The quality of your home’s water may meet local standards, but it might not meet your own. Ordinary tap water can contain dissolved metals, including lead and iron. It might contain nitrates, chlorine and mineral salts. Your tap water could also contain other undesirable substances such as sulfates, mercury, asbestos and arsenic.

Fortunately, you can get cleaner, clearer drinking water with a drinking water purification system, which produces water ideal for:

  • Drinking
  • Coffee and tea
  • Cooking
  • Ice cubes
  • Baby formula
  • Juice concentrates
  • Aquariums
  • House plants
  • Steam irons
  • Car batteries

A drinking water filtration system is more convenient and less costly than buying bottled water. Best of all, it pays for itself over time and makes a difference you will notice every day.

Reverse Osmosis

Our reverse osmosis water treatment typically reduces impurities by 90% or more from your drinking water. The microbiological drinking water purification system is certified to meet or exceed the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for the removal of bacteria, viruses and cysts from your drinking water without the use of ultra violet technologies.

Metro Systems offers a variety of installed reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water purification systems designed to remove contaminants from the water your family drinks. An installed reverse osmosis water treatment system can be tucked away under the kitchen counter or in the basement.

Here is how an RO works:

  1. Household water is directed through a pre-filter for filtration to remove sediment, chlorine taste and odor and particulate matter.
  2. The water is then forced, by pressure, through a semi-permeable membrane where a high percentage of the dissolved solids are rejected and flushed to the drain.
  3. A final polishing of the water is accomplished by an activated carbon absorption block filter removing tastes and odors. The water passes through this final filtering process immediately before going to the faucet whether it comes direct from the unit or from the storage tank.
  4. The automatic shut-off control shuts down the system when the storage tank is filled and water is not being drawn. This “demand production” feature conserves water by eliminating the constant running to the drain found in some units. The control also depressurizes the membrane when not in service extending the membrane life.

Metro Systems offers a broad range of RO systems including the ERO 375, a state-of-the-art reverse osmosis filter. These products reduce substances such as chlorine taste, sediment, nitrates, lead, cysts and detergents.

Whole home water filtration and drinking water systems

The water in your home may have several issues that need to be corrected, from hardness (mineral deposits) and turbidity (suspended dirt) to bad tastes and smells (chlorine odor). Your water may also contain things you can’t even see, such as nitrates or other potentially harmful contaminants. If your water looks, tastes or smells bad, remedying the water at each tap as well as providing the best, purist drinking water is the answer.

A whole home water filtration system from Metro includes a water softener system or – if you have city water – a water refiner system, plus a reverse osmosis water treatment system. The water softener or refiner treats your water by removing mineral deposits, while the RO filters remove at least 95 percent of the dissolved solids in your drinking water.

The Metro Whole Home System gives you cleaner, softer water from every faucet in your home, plus delivers safe, great tasting water for drinking or cooking. We offer a full line of products to meet your needs. Different products can be combined to create a customized Whole Home System.

A water test could reveal that your home’s water has some additional issues that need treatment. Metro has designed and engineered a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art filters considered to be the best on the market to deal with households that experience water contamination issues such as:

  • Arsenic
  • Hydrogen Sulfide – H2S (Sulfur Gas)
  • Iron and Manganese
  • Nitrates
  • Sulfates
  • Silt/Sediment
  • Tannin
